A client has asked us to help him sell his Mason & Hamlin model AA grand piano. It belonged to his mother who was a concert artist. Built in 1936, during the golden era for such instruments, it retains all original parts including the original ivory keys.
At 6’2” this instrument is a perfect size for home or studio. It is large enough to produce a great sound without being so large it overpowers a room.
This vintage piano is in very good condition and could provide quite satisfactory performance with some minor service. A more thorough restoration or rebuilding would render this a superb instrument capable of pleasing the most discriminating pianist.
Mason and Hamlin is one of the most respected pianos ever built and one of the very few that has historically held its investment value. Even with a full rebuilding, an investment in this instrument would be considerably less than the cost of a new Mason & Hamlin AA whose list price is now over $60,000.
Asking price for this instrument is $8500. Sold!
